“Several years ago I decided to stop shaving my legs and switched to waxing. I was sick of ingrown hairs and the little red bumps that formed on my lower legs from an old school razor.  However, I soon learned that waxing your legs is wonderful, for about three days. The hair begins to creep back in and you are stuck with it for at least two weeks, three if you want it to be even more efficient.

That’s why I decided it was time to look into the more permanent option of Laser Hair Removal, so I booked my free consultation in Beyond Skin. The girls were lovely, they reassured me and talked me through the process and explained the ins and outs of how laser hair removal works. Specifically that it doesn’t work on blonde or grey hair, but that dark hair (like mine) is perfect for treatment.

After running through a medical check I had a quick patch test on my ankle and got my first session booked straight away.

My first session a few days later lasted no longer than 5 minutes on each leg, and was slightly uncomfortable but a completely bearable level of pain. Compared to waxing it’s so much quicker and cleaner. Gillian then covered my legs in Australian BodyCare TeaTree lotion and that was it, simple as that!

I wasn’t expecting such quick results, as I was told it would take 3-6 sessions to see a big change, but after just two visits spaced the required six weeks apart to catch different hair during various growth cycles, I can already notice the difference.

Laser hair removal isn’t for everyone, but I’ve been converted! For me the investment is worth it to not have to worry about shaving or booking waxing ever again!”
