Why Should I use an Eye Cream?

Skin around the eyes is very thin, because of this under eyes can retain moisture and look puffy. It will often be the first area you begin to see the effects of ageing.

Unlike the rest of the face, the eyes have no sebaceous glands so can often become dry. There is also less Collagen and Elastin in this area, so as we age it becomes harder for the skin to just ‘bounce back’ into shape.

Eye products are specialised for use in that area, often in different consistencies than facial products. By using the same products we use on the face we could cause irritation and puffiness.

How To Treat Anti-Ageing Concerns For The Eyes

How Should I apply an Eye Cream?

Always follow the advice of your skincare practitioner as well as manufacturers guidance.

When you use moisturiser- ensure you do not apply it higher than the orbital bone. After you apply moisturiser, apply your eye cream. A small amount of product should be used. Dot the product along the brow bone and just above the orbital bone. Gently smooth into the skin, do not rub vigorously- the eyes are very delicate. Some products like Obagi Elastiderm Eye Cream can be applied over the eye lid.

Most Common Eye Concerns

  • Wrinkles
  • Hollows
  • Puffiness
