Skin Boosters
Skin booster injections are a soft, gel-like substance called Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This is a substance that occurs naturally in the skin and holds incredible amounts of moisture. However, HA depletes with many factors including age, sun damage, genetics, smoking and environmental factors which is what causes skin to become dry and dehydrated.
Microinjections of hyaluronic acid restores the moisture in the skin, which improves its elasticity, firmness and radiance.
Skin Boosters are injected using microdroplet or mesotherapy technique of tiny injections. This process of delivering skin boosters also triggers the skin’s own repair resulting in collagen production and improved skin elasticity.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is The Difference Between Skin Boosters & Dermal Fillers?
The main difference between skin boosters and dermal fillers is lift and longevity. Skin boosters add hydration, glow and restore elastin while dermal fillers add volume and soften lines to restore a more youthful appearance.
Both treatments use key ingredient of hyaluronic acid and are injected under the skin using a needle. Dermal fillers can last anywhere from 9 to 12 months while Skin boosters will last up to 6 months and will need more regular maintenance.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid for skin that is losing its elasticity and firmness with age. It can be used on the face & neck where the skin shows visible signs of ageing. There is an immediately noticeable improvement in skin tone, hydration as well as firmness, and lines are minimized.
Profhilo differs from the usual fillers in a number of ways due to its structure which allows it to flow over an extended area to boost hydration and smooth or ‘remodel’ the skin.
How Does Profhilo Work?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance produced in our body, found in skin, joints and other connective tissue. Its role is to retain moisture in the body and aid collagen production. It can hold 1000 times its weight in water which makes it ideal for binding moisture in the skin. With age, however, hyaluronic acid production slows and the skin looks duller and dehydrated, with fine lines and wrinkles forming.
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of stabilised hyaluronic acid on the market. Because it is thermally bonded and not chemically bonded it acts as a hydrator not a filler. It is injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration. Over the next four weeks phase two kick in as it goes to work boosting elastin and collagen production. This effectively remodels the skin and giving it a plumper, smoother and firmer appearance.
Who Is Profhilo For?
As we age, the presence of hyaluronic acid in the skin naturally starts to drop, which causes the skin to lose its natural firmness and elasticity. Most people begin to see the effects of hyaluronic acid depletion as they reach their 30s – and Profhilo is the perfect treatment for anyone looking to counteract this.
Where Can Profhilo Be Used?
Profhilo is usually administered into the skin in five key areas (when administered to the face): the tops of cheeks, side of the face, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds and laughter lines. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin around the neck, chest and décolletage.
How Much Does Profhilo Cost?
In order to achieve the best results it is recommended to have two Profhilo treatments, spaced 4 weeks apart.
Profhilo costs £300, second session £250 if booked 4-6 weeks after.
Are There Any Side Effects?
There are no long-term side effects. Profhilo is metabolised by the body completely.
No allergy test is required prior to treatment. The risk of allergic reactions is substantially reduced because Profhilo does not contain any synthetic chemicals which some people might react to.
During the treatment we can use a local anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. There may be a slight stinging feeling as the product is injected, but this only lasts a few seconds.
After your treatment a small amount of swelling or bruising at the injection points is possible. You may also experience some tenderness for 24-72 hours.
Normal side effects include small amounts of swelling, bruising, redness and soreness. Most of these will subside after a couple of days and be gone within ten. If you are still experiencing problems after ten days you should contact us for advice.
Is Profhilo Permanent?
Hyaluronic acid based treatments are not permanent. Eventually the ingredients will be absorbed by the body. This is a gradual process, so they won’t suddenly disappear overnight.
After your initial treatments, a single treatment every six months should be sufficient to maintain the benefits.
